The Office of the Medical Examiner is a county agency charged under Arizona Law to perform medical investigations of certain types of deaths. The goal of these investigations is to determine the medical cause (disease and/or injury) of the death to help improve the public’s health and safety. Our investigations inform families, the public and its agencies, and other community stakeholders in the hope that future deaths may be prevented. We are looking for individuals to join our collaborative team to provide compassionate service to the people of Maricopa County.

The Medicolegal Death Investigator (MDI) Supervisor provides supervision to a team of MDIs in order to promote effective and efficient investigations for deaths of an unexplained, violent or suspicious nature and those cases is in accordance with the legal jurisdiction of the Office of the Medical Examiner (OME). This position works closely with the leadership team to ensure policies and procedures are properly adhered to and to ensure that customer service is provided in an empathetic, supportive manner to the grieving person(s). This position provides ongoing feedback, training, and guidance on the medicolegal death investigation process to MDIs.
